IPL 2019 is finally here and it is Going to be a Blockbuster clash on the very first day as Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai super kings takes on Virat Kohli’s Royal challengers Bangalore at Chepauk stadium known as Anbu Den among CSK fans. So, who is going to win this south Indian Derby? Let us have a small discussion.
Chennai super kings is one the most successful team with the most successful captain. Let us see their strengths and weakness going into this match. To see our prediction for match 2 between Kolkata Knight Riders and SunRisers Hyderabad, click here.
Strengths – With Shane Watson coming from PSL with a Red hot form and expected to open with Rayadu, the same opening pair from the 2018 edition is expected to give a good start to CSK through out the tournament. Their Formidable middle order with Dhoni , Raina , Faf du plessis/Sam Billings followed by the finishers like Bravo and Jadeja makes their batting order a hard nut to crack.
Weakness – They have trusted the bowlers who was in form last year and that might backfire them. Because every year it may not be the same. They have picked Mohit Sharma as an addition and he is not considered as a mighty threat to the opposition despite being a purple cap holder once. Lungi Ngidi getting ruled out because of an Injury as made the wound worse. Imran Tahir and Harbhajan singh has not been a magical bowlers they used to be in the past.
Despite these weak holes, Dhoni’s is kind of a leader who can bring the best out the bowlers. If Deepak Chahar be able to replicate his 2018 performance, then Chennai will be more tougher side to beat. If Ravindra jadeja bowls in his best form, CSK is going to give every team a threat once again.
Royal challengers Bangalore:
Almost every troll regarding IPL is against them and they are the team brutally trolled for not winning the IPL. There are teams who have not won the IPL, but the reason being the troll behind this team is the fact that they always had best of players in their team but yet to win a cup. But past is past, what’s done is done, let us come to the IPL 2019, Royal challengers Bangalore has closed some holes by balancing their team, let us have a look at their strength and weakness.
Strengths – With Parthiv Patel and Moeen Ali expected to open, that means there is two sensible players are opening for RCB in this game. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be taking care of the middle order while million dollar baby Shimron Hetmyer is an valuable player in the main 11 who is expected to bat at Number 5. They also picked some domestic talents like Shivam Dube who can time the ball sweetly.
Weakness – Washington Sundar is a very good asset to the playing 11 but his inconsistency in the last IPL has hurt RCB a big time. Confusion will be visible in picking the players between Tim Southee and Colin de Grandhomme as Tim is a brilliant death over bowler and Colin is a ferocious game changer with his hitting. If they have to be at their best against Chennai in Chennai, then picking Tim Southee will be the Right option. That means there is no room for top order collapse for RCB because Somewhere they lack Depth in the batting which CSK has.
Extra Advantage – Unlike last year, the bowling is not completely poor as Mohammed Siraj and Umesh yadav holds the balance and Virat Kohli will hope that these bowlers deliver to their potential.
Prediction – Holding so much hype at home, Chennai super kings will start as favourites under Mahi, But a RCB batting success will prove costly for the Chennai super kings.
